SeamChart by Seamcode

Geoscience software · Crafted in India

Borehole CSV in. AutoCAD-ready drawings out.

Upload your borehole interval table. SeamChart returns seam correlation charts, fence diagrams, graphic logs and seam structure plots — not as pictures, but as layered DXF that opens straight in AutoCAD, Civil 3D or BricsCAD (one Save-As from DWG), hatched from a standard library of graphic lithological symbols your reviewers already recognise. Plot-ready vector PDF and high-resolution PNG come along free. No install, no license server, no dongle.

01 / WORKFLOW

The workflow reads like a borehole: top to bottom, no detours

0.0 — Upload

Drop in the CSVs you already keep

The interval table — BOREHOLE, FROM, TO, LITHOLOGY, SEAM_NAME. Add the collar file (easting, northing, RL) for fence diagrams, and the band-by-band quality CSV (recovery, M%, Ash%) for seam structure plots. Your logging sheets already carry these columns.

1.0 — Render

The engine drafts the figure

Holes hung on your marker-seam datum or true collar RL. Standard lithological hatches, seam brackets with names and depths, downhole ticks every 50 m, dashed correlation lines tying same-name seams — applied identically on every hole, whether it is hole 3 or hole 300.

2.0 — Download

A drawing, not a screenshot

Layered DXF your CAD cell edits directly — plus vector PDF for the plotter and high-resolution PNG for the report body. Batch an entire campaign from one file.

The format the industry actually asks forGRs, DPRs and mine plans live in CAD. SeamChart hands your draughtsman a real drawing — every hatch, bracket and label on its own layer — not a flat image to trace over.
Proven on real campaignsThe engine has already rendered correlation charts, fence diagrams and structure plots for Gondwana coalfield datasets — twenty-plus seams, from Seam IIA to Seam XI, in a single run.
Consistency your reviewer noticesSame datum, same symbology, same lettering on every figure in the report — the thing a hand-drafted chart set can never quite achieve.
02 / THE FIGURES

Four figures every Indian coal report must carry, from one database

Correlation charts, fence diagrams, borehole graphic logs and seam structure plots — drawn from the same interval tables. No re-entry of data, ever.

03 / LOGS & STRUCTURE

Graphic logs & seam structure plots, with the quality data in

Every borehole's banded lithology as a top-aligned column — all holes in one DXF. Then, one file per seam: a reference-style structure card for each hole, windowed from 3 m above the seam roof to 1 m below the floor, with wavy break lines, recovered and effective thickness, band-by-band M / Ash / VM / FC, and the Seam Overall Analysis table (I100 / I50 / I30) drawn at the bottom — the figure your GR's seam chapter is built on.

DXF the way a draughtsman would set it up himself

Open the file in AutoCAD, Civil 3D or BricsCAD and it behaves like an in-house drawing: 1 drawing unit = 1 metre, vertical scale 1:1, Y=0 on the datum, ACI colours, and every element class on its own named layer — switch off, restyle, or plot exactly what you need. Save as DWG in one step, insert into the mine plan, hand to the survey office.

Your standards, not ours

A complete lithological hatch library ships built in — and everything about it is yours to override. Load your own AutoCAD .pat hatch files, remap any lithology code with a one-line JSON entry (pattern, ACI colour, scale, description), set the datum seam, roof or floor reference, column pitch and width, hatch scale, plot title. The output follows your office's drawing conventions, run after run.

The hatch library, drawn correctly

Hatching follows a standard library of graphic lithological symbols — the symbology every Indian coal reviewer was trained on. Coal-measure lithologies are first-class: coal, shaly coal, carbonaceous shale high and low, shale, sandy shale, and fine / medium / coarse sandstone, out of the box.
